Useful diet for your teeth

food-diet-for-strong-teethIf you want to save the health of your smile, you must remember that is very important what you eat and how often you eat. Food affects your teeth and oral cavity long after you've swallow it. Sugars (glucose, fructose, maltose and lactose) contained in there enter into reactions with microorganisms and natural micro flora of the oral cavity for at least 20 minutes. During that period, your teeth are extremely vulnerable.

Short-term effect of dietary intake
When bacteria in the oral cavity interact with sugars it produce acids, which can seriously destroy the enamel. This process is called demineralization. Teeth have a tendency to recover the mineral surface, this is a natural process and is called remineralization. Saliva and some foods helps this process.

At the time the minerals are destroyed faster than naturally recovered, began the process of destruction of teeth.

Therefore if you eat a cake right after dinner is not so harmful as if you eat small bites throughout the day and thus continually expose their teeth at risk of deterioration.

On the other side there are foods that protect your teeth as increased production of saliva and neutralize the formation of acids.

Chewing sugar-free chewing gum also helps to fight cavities. Xylitol, a common ingredient in such chewing gum reduces bacteria in the mouth. Also, most gum decreased salivation.

Long-term effect of dietary intake
Your mouth is very influenced by food, and the care you take for her. If they are not correct, you risk losing teeth prematurely, or to cause serious periodontal problem and bad breath. Nutrition problem affecting the health of the mouth in first place.

These foods are rick of sugars, which in contact with bacteria in the mouth produce acids. This problem may also be higher if part of the food stick to your teeth.

    * The best choice - Tea without sugar, milk and water, especially fluoridated water. In tea also contains fluoride which strengthens tooth enamel. Water helps to wash the bacteria in the mouth.

3. Avoid sweets or suck peppermints. They have a very large amount of sugars.
